Josienne was commissioned to write the soundtrack for the award-winning short film Never Again. This release is currently only available through digital platforms, but who knows—maybe a 7” will appear one day.
Lyrics
Never Again ThemeNever Again Theme (Acoustic)Stranger
It's not like you're leaving
But you don't return
Time moves through you
You eventually learn
And youthful exuberance
Gives way to the wise
Nostalgic remembrance of static time
Where nobody knows me
And you're all the same
That shift in the meaning of never again
What you planned to take with you
You'll leave behind
That something and nothing time
That sticks in your mind
Winning or losing
It's one and the same
This life you're living never again
But you don't return
Time moves through you
You eventually learn
And youthful exuberance
Gives way to the wise
Nostalgic remembrance of static time
Where nobody knows me
And you're all the same
That shift in the meaning of never again
What you planned to take with you
You'll leave behind
That something and nothing time
That sticks in your mind
Winning or losing
It's one and the same
This life you're living never again
It's not like you're leaving
But you don't return
Time moves through you
You eventually learn
And youthful exuberance
Gives way to the wise
Nostalgic remembrance of static time
Where nobody knows me
And you're all the same
That shift in the meaning of never again

That sticks in your mind

This life you're living never again
Stranger I think I know you
Stranger I think I know you
I see a darkness
A light shining through
Something I recognise
Something new
Stranger I think I know you
Stranger I think I know you
Stranger I think I know you
I see a darkness
A light shining through
Something I recognise
Something new
Stranger I think I know you
Stranger I think I know you
